Originally from France, born in Dijon and raised in Martinique, Alexandra is a French-American multi-skilled storyteller living in New York City since 2006.
She got her Acting MFA at the University of Virginia (graduated in May 2016), traveled through Japan from July to October 2016 to perform and study with the Butoh company Dairakudakan, and lived in LA for six months, where she was the manager of the physical theater company Theater JAZZO.
Additionally, she has a BA in History from the Université de Bourgogne and a Master in Journalism from the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3. For her second year of Master, the City University of New York invited her as an exchange student. This is where she took her first Acting class and got hooked for good.
With a major in Business Journalism, Alexandra began her journalism career as a TV reporter, freelancing for New York Financial Press, a media company based in the New York Stock Exchange. She had the opportunity to work on the field for France televisions, TF1, CNBC Italy and the Agency France-Press. Three years later, she became a live correspondent for the French TV and radio networks France 24 and Europe 1, reporting live from the floor of the NYSE.
Meanwhile she honed her acting skills at the American Academy of Dramatic Art, at the T. Schreiber Studio, trained with various coaches, among which Sarah Grace Wilson from the Juilliard School, and was an independent artist at the O’ Neill studio where she had the privilege to take a Master Class with Marian Seldes.
At the end of 2012, Alexandra decided to listen to her heart’s calling and focused on her performing and educating career. She went back to graduate school and got her Acting MFA from UVa.
Her life’s mission is to help others connect to their passion, power and essence promoting healing with performing arts, Body Dynamics and Reiki.
Body Dynamics™ is a body movement and energy technique that promotes empowerment, vitality, self-confidence and self-love! Developed at first for performers and actors, Body Dynamics™ is useful to anybody looking to be at home in their body and hone their leadership and communication skills.
Alexandra trained for three years with Carol Reynolds at the T. Schreiber studio in New York. She certified in April 2011, and coaches privately and subs at T. Schreiber for Carol.
Reiki is a Japanese energy technique for stress reduction, relaxation and healing. It is administered by "laying on hands". Alexandra got her certification in November 2011 from the Neuro-cellular Education Systems in New York.
She has her own wellness and healing private practice, offering one on one sessions, group classes and workshops.
Through all her activities, on stage, in a class room, at a workshop, Alexandra’s intention, mission and purpose are the same: promoting healing and self-love so that one day everybody could be happy and free in their own skin!
Ultimately, one of her goals is to create an international theater company for artists coming from all over the world and a film production company, which will promote powerful multicultural projects.
